Tuberculosis remains a serious public health problem in Brazil and worldwide. Its elimination appears as one of the goals within the Sustainable Development Goal on health and well-being, so that the World Health Organization envisions a world free of tuberculosis by 2035. In Brazil, to achieve these goals requires efforts from tuberculosis control programs, health professionals, and other society segments. For this, it is not enough to act on tuberculosis alone; latent Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection (LTBI) must also be detected and treated in the target populations. The situation of tuberculosis in people living with HIV (PLHIV) is also noteworthy. In this course, divided into three units, we will present specifics related to the management of LTBI, tuberculosis, and TB-HIV coinfection. The course is addressed to all health professionals who work directly or indirectly in tuberculosis control.
